Half-term is coming fast and we have a full week of exciting things for your family to do.
We are celebrating the work of famous children’s author Eric Carle, who has sold more than 44 million copies of his book The Very Hungry Caterpillar. That’s one every minute since it was launched in 1969!
Inspired by this classic we’ll have a Caterpillar Trail available all week.
On Monday 23 October we’ll be attempting a Guinness World Record attempt. All around East Anglia people have been preparing Suffolk Puffs, circles of fabric used to make quilts, which will be assembled to make, hopefully, the Longest Suffolk Puff Caterpillar world record.
We’ll also be having a look at another Carle creation, with arts and craft activities inspired by The Mixed-Up Chameleon on Tuesday 24 October.
Then on Thursday 26 October we will be screening The Very Hungry Caterpillar Film.
But that’s not all, this October Half Term we will also have Pumpkin Mania, two fun-filled family days carving pumpkins on Saturday 28 October and Sunday 29 October. Whether you joined us back in May for pumpkin planting or not, we have plenty of pumpkins and will supply cutting equipment.
