How You Can Help

For further details about the ideas below, contact the museum curator, Lisa Harris to discuss how you or your organisation would like to work with the museum to preserve East Anglia’s heritage.  Phone her on 01449 612229  or email her at   lisa.harris@eastanglianlife.org.uk

Volunteers
We need your help. No matter how young or old you are, we value your help looking after our 40,000 artefacts, 80 acres (including high quality wildlife habitat and an 18th century garden), 50 animals, 11 historic buildings, 3 working steam engines, 1 working watermill, a shop and a café. Whatever skills and time you have available, we will be pleased to make use of them.

Individual Giving
Gifts from individuals are essential to many aspects of the museum’s work; for example in 2002 the £15,000 refurbishment of the Burrell traction engine, ‘Empress of Britain’, was supported by a combination of the Friends of the Museum, local councillors and many individuals.

Corporate Sponsorship
We offer attractive benefits to organisations looking to form partnerships; for example, benefits can include special events for staff families, as well as credit in publications. Companies can support the general work of the museum or a particular aspect. Why not support a Suffolk Punch horse? They are more rare than the Giant Panda.

The Friends of the Museum
Join the Friends and help support this great museum while adding to your own interests. Newsletters and advance notice of special events are sent to Friends twice a year.
