Resources for Teachers

The Museum is a wonderful educational resource set in the magnificent Suffolk countryside on a large, safe, open air site. We have a wide and interesting collection that includes entire buildings such as Alton Watermill, which is run twice a day, and many animals, including rare breeds.
The Museum offers lots of resources for schools. You can use our workshops to go back in time and experience Victorian life at home and in the classroom or to explore materials in our glorious 13th Century Tithe Barn. There are trails to discover Gypsy Traveller culture, where your food comes from and where a 19th Century grocer bought items to sell in his shop. You can also borrow one of our loans boxes and take a little bit of the Museum into your classroom!
