Traditional Music Day
For seven years the museum has played host to the most significant festival of traditional music in the East. Organised by the East Anglian Traditional Music Trust who are based at the museum, Traditional Music Day combines the best East Anglian performers with renowned musicians from across the UK.
Each Year the museum resounds to the sound of fiddles, melodians, dulcimers and the hob nailed shoes of stepdancers who patter out the rhythms and melodies of traditional songs and tunes. Aside from the concerts around the site, visitors can enjoy a Ceilidh, storytelling and craft activities such as jig doll making. The event is rounded off with a concert in the museums Past performers have included Mike Waterson, Jim Fitzpatrick and the Orchard Family.
