A selection of works from ‘Outside In: National’, a ground breaking exhibition showcasing work by artists from the margins will be on display in our temporary exhibition galleries in Abbot’s Hall.
The Outside In project was set up in 2006 by Pallant House Gallery to provide opportunities for artists who see themselves as facing a barrier to the art world. The goal of the project is to create a fairer art world which rejects traditional values and institutional judgements about whose work can and should be displayed.
Described as offering a “radical perspective on Britain today” by Jonathan Jones of The Guardian, ‘Outside In: National’ provides a unique insight into the extraordinary breadth and vitality of work produced by individuals from outside the mainstream art world.
An art workshop and talk will taking place as part of the exhibition, the workshop will be held on the 23rd May and details can be found here
