Museum of East Anglian Life
The Museum of East Anglian Life will be holding its third annual Countryside at War event on Sunday 14th September. Visitors can discover what life was like in the Suffolk countryside during the Second World War through demonstrations, re-enactments, wartime vehicles and family activities, in a day out for all the family to enjoy.
Discover what people in the countryside did during the war; watch our Steam Team and Land Army Girls as they demonstrate steam thrashing and wartime farming. Join our costumed staff and volunteers as we help bring history to life. Get involved as you collect your identity card, join the Home Guard for drill practice, and learn how to put out fires with a stirrup pump!
We will be offering special discounted prices for visitors who arrive in appropriate period costume, as well as free entry for Veterans and current members of HM Armed Forces on production of relevant proof.
